During the 1980's Liverpool was the dominant force in English football. They were the team to beat and were very good indeed. In the modern game however Liverpool have come a little off the boil and have fallen behind some of their closest rivals. But things have changed at the club and things are now moving in the right direction. With a new owner and a few new key players Liverpool have shown good signs of improvement.

Andy Carroll fitness latest
Kenny Dalglish has confirmed he will check on the fitness of Andy Carroll before deciding whether the striker can face his former club, Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
